Ways to Support Scouting Who Pays for Scouting
"We only have a short time to live, so it is essential to do things that are worthwhile and to do them now." Robert Baden Powell.

The Hiawathaland Council depends entirely upon the financial support of its members and the public’s voluntary donations. It is not a government-funded program. The Boy Scouts exist to provide a program of character development. However, it takes financial support to accomplish that goal. The more financial support available to the council, the more youth will be involved in better quality programs.

Overall support for the Boy Scout programs come from many sources. This is because there are many beneficiaries of Scouting. The youth and their families benefit primarily from the Scouting experience. They pay the largest portion of the expense, as their means allow. Packs, troops, and crews are chartered to community organizations that share the goals of the Scouting program. They pay a portion of the costs. Finally, the community at large is enriched when it has a vibrant Scouting program. It too contributes to making the Scouting program possible.

Hiawathaland Council is involved with several programs to raise money.
