2010 National Scout Jamboree

There will be touring enroute and in Washington, D. C.  On the way back, there will be a day spent at Cedar Point in Ohio. Travel will be by chartered bus with lodging in churches or schools.

DATES: The Jamboree is July 26 to August 4, 2010. Tentative dates for the trip are July 20 to August 6th.                                     An orientation meeting will be on March 20, 2010 and the pre-Jamboree training weekend is June 18-20, 2010.  Both are mandatory.

WHO MAY GO: Any Boy Scout who has completed the sixth grade or will be at least 12 years of age and a First Class Scout by July 1, 2010 but not have reached his 18th birthday by August 3, 2010. His Scoutmaster and the council jamboree committee must approve the Scout. He must complete a pre-jamboree training experience and meet medical requirements.

ORGANIZATION: The Council contingent will consist of 2 troops of 36 Scouts and 4 adult leaders each. Adult leaders are; Mark Rice and Matt Morgan  as Scoutmasters with  Dave Mongeau, George Dugan, Chuck Wayman and Bill Fyvie as Assistant Scoutmasters

COST: The fee is $1,750 per  Scout.  A $100 Deposit is due with your application. The total will be due as follows: $450 due by Aug. 1, 2009, $1000 due by Dec. 1, 2009, $1375 due by Feb. 1, 2010, $1750 due by April 1, 2010.

FEE INCLUDES: The jamboree fee includes all transportation, tours, admission fees, meals, lodging, patrol and troop equipment, and insurance. Your fee also covers the training camp before the jamboree. Additional expense will be your personal equipment, uniforms, and spending money.

REFUND POLICY: If you sign up for the jamboree and then find that you cannot attend, you will receive a full refund from the Hiawathaland Council only if there is an alternate to take your place. In the event there is no alternate, a partial refund will be made. This will include fees you have paid to date, less any expenses related to contractual agreements made on your behalf. A copy of the complete refund policy will be given to you at the time of application.
